Tips and Training
Love them both! Be kind and respectful to all people entering Access.
Be considerate to the people working at Access. Refer them to a website that can assist them in changing their career. https://abortionworker.com
Make sure you are always law abiding when outside the clinic. We are not allowed on their property. This includes the parking lot. Also, do not block the flow of traffic into or out of the strip mall. You are always under surveillance while there. And if the police are called, be polite and answer their questions.
Be safe out there! Always have your phone with you. If a situation makes you feel uncomfortable, go to your car, lock the doors and call 911. If you can, record the situation on your phone, do so. And if someone is stealing our signs, call 911, and write down information that will helpful to the police such as a license number and description of the troublemakers.
Don't get into an argument with anyone there. The preferable approach is to enter a respectful dialog with people of differing opinions. Ask them why they feel the way they do. Many of them are coming from a place of hurt or ignorance. So be kind even when they aren't kind to you. You may be able to soften their hearts.
Rumor has it that getting flipped off at Access earns you 15 minutes off in Purgatory. We're all going to be doing some tap dancing on Judgement Day, so think of this as a job perk!
If it's been a while since you've attended training or if you've never had formal training to interact with women going into Access, please consider 40 Days for Life's Sidewalk Outreach online training program. Go through the modules at your convenience. The cost is $29 and you will come away from it with proven techniques for engaging abortion clients.
If someone is already calling out to the woman, please don't shout over them. We're all very passionate about getting our message of help to her, but having multiple people screaming at her will just upset her and that is never our intent. Say a prayer that she will listen.
